had some sort of a gathering tonight and my uncle, dad, aunt, mum and me were having some heated discussion about gender issues. hahas. come to think of it, it's really really funny.
uncle mentioned that women in singapore are not behaving like women anymore! more like unreasonable tyrants and bitches. and more men in singapore are turning to marrying women from other countries.
dad mentioned that women in singapore are having too unrealistic demands. they want rich husbands. and also want them to spend more time with them. but the thing is that, you cant have that at the same time. a rich husband will never have time for you as he will be too caught up in his business to even spend time with you.
aunt said that women are also facing the same problem as we go out and work. so somehow or another, we are of equal status as men and hence think that it is right of us to have demands.
what can i say? the women of today greatly differ from that of yesterday. no, we are not contented being domestic housewives, pandering to our husband's every whim. and no, we are not tyrants who demand our spouses to give in to our unrealistic demands. some of us dun even get married. it depends ultimately on what makes a woman happy. marriage? career? or both? men and women are built differently, with different mentality. but ultimately, we all have a something in common. the need to connect with another individual. some find it thru close frens and are contented whereas others find it thru marriage. (: that's all.
